Cluster |
An
assembly comprising of teat cups, liners, short air tubes and claw. |

Teat cup |
An
assembly consisting of a rigid shell (or case) with a short pulse tube and
a liner. |
|
|
Teat cup
|
A
rigid shell to retain the liner. |
|
|
Liner
(inflation) |
A
flexible sleeve having a mouthpiece, a barrel and an integral or separate
short milk tube. |
|
|
Pulsation
chamber |
The
annular space between the liner and the shell. |
|
|
Short
milk tube |
The
connecting tube between the interior of the liner and the claw milking
nipple. |
|
|
Short
pulse tube |
The
connecting tube between the pulsation chamber and the claw air nipple. |
|
|
Claw |
The
manifold that spaces the teat cups in forming a cluster and connects them
to the long milk and pulse tubes (or where applicable, to a portable milk
receiving bucket). |
|
|
Air
admission hole |
An
aperture in the cluster to admit air. (Air bleed) |
|
|
Long
milk tube |
The
connecting tube between the claw and milk collecting vessel or a milking
pipeline or, in the case of an independent air and milk transport milking
machine, a transfer pipeline. |

Long
pulse tube |
The
connecting tube between the claw and the pulsator. |
